Junior Chef - Kitchen
Baffle Haus is a fast-growing and exciting hospitality business with an automotive twist. This is a great opportunity to make a real impact in a new team at our recently opened Old Post location. Our kitchen at both sites is the heart of what we do, and we’re on the lookout for a talented and enthusiastic Junior Chef. You’ll work alongside some extremely talented chefs with some amazing experience.
As a Junior Chef, you'll play a key role in supporting the kitchen team in the preparation and delivery of high-quality dishes. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for food who is eager to develop their culinary career.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals.
Support the Head Chef and Assistant Head chef in daily kitchen operations.
Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are upheld at all times.
Help with stock management and ingredient preparation.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen.
Contribute to menu planning and development with fresh ideas and creativity.
Work efficiently to meet service deadlines during busy periods.
What We’re Looking For:
Previous experience working in a kitchen environment is desirable but not essential.
A strong passion for food and willingness to learn.
Good organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
A team player with excellent communication skills.
Basic knowledge of food safety and health regulations (Level 2 Food Hygiene preferred but not required).
What We Offer:
£24,000-26,000 based on experience
40-hour work week with predominately day time shifts.

Baffle Haus is a motor inspired lifestyle brand focused on ‘sharing the ride’ and having some fun along the way! As a group of owners we have a passion for good quality coffee and have always struggled to find a welcoming motor-themed establishment that serves artisan coffee and food in Wales. What started as conversations in a WhatsApp group has now escalated to Baffle Haus, which is fast becoming the go to destination in South Wales for those interested in bikes or cars.
Customer service and creating a welcoming family friendly atmosphere is without a doubt the most important thing to us. We are on the search for an enthusiastic and driven individual who buys into our vision and is keen to grow with us as a business. Knowledge or interest about motors is not necessary, but a passion for creating an awesome experience for customers is!
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will ultimately be able to produce high quality hand crafted beverages at Baffle Haus as well as;
- Maintain a calm and professional demeanor during busy periods
- Prepare and serve coffee and teas that meet quality standards
- Able to train other employees on drinks preparation and proper use of coffee equipment
- Understand how to dial in an espresso shot by adjusting grind, tamp and dose.
- Clean the coffee machine and work area thoroughly
- Respond to orders, questions and any complaints in a polite manner
- Accept and process customer payments whilst interacting with new and regular customers
Requirements
Barista Experience.
A good understanding and level of skill when preparing and serving coffee. Latte art a must!
Hygiene Level 2 or willing to complete
Great communication skills
High level of attention to detail
